Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

PlanStory publishes school-district strategic plans as public websites. Because these pages are district web content, they fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act — including the Department of Justice's 2024 rule under Title II, which requires state and local government web content to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

We design and test every district-facing PlanStory page — strategic-plan stories, dashboards, context pages, and this site — against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Measures we take

• Automated WCAG audits (axe-core) run against every published surface on every code change; critical and serious violations block release.
• Color contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for text, with status information always conveyed by color, icon, and text together.
• Full keyboard operability: skip-to-content links, visible focus indicators, and keyboard-accessible charts, tables, and disclosure controls.
• Charts and data visualizations carry text alternatives, and the same numbers always appear as readable text.
• Animations respect the operating system's “reduce motion” preference.
• PDF exports are generated with document structure tags.

Known limitations

Some district-supplied imagery (for example, scanned strategic-plan graphics) may predate these standards. When a district uploads its own media, we work with the district to provide text alternatives.
